Our Story
I'm Dr James Davidson, and I founded MedCourse in 2021. As a junior doctor, I loved courses. I had study leave, study budget, and a genuine desire to learn something new on every placement.
The problem was finding them. Good courses were buried in email chains, lost on page 8 of Google, or pinned to a mess noticeboard behind six-month-old posters. When I finally found something, I'd spend days on paper forms and email chains just to book it.
After five years on the NHS frontline, I left hospital medicine to build something better. MedCourse now connects resident doctors with 83 independent education providers, making it easier to find CPD courses, exam prep, clinical skills training, and question banks. It's always been free for doctors, and it always will be.
What Makes Us Different

Some platforms optimise for course providers because that's where the money is. We optimise for the doctor searching for courses. Always free, no sign-up required.
Independent
We don't create courses ourselves. We list courses from 83 providers, so you get genuine choice — not one organisation's catalogue.
Built for Resident Doctors
Not broad healthcare CPD. Not aimed at consultants or nurses. Every filter, category, and piece of content is designed around the UK training pathway.
Profit Isn't the Motive
We've run MedCourse for five years without chasing revenue. We're not backed by investors. The doctor's experience always comes first.
