About this course
Expedition Kyrgyzstan is an expedition and wilderness medicine course offered by Endeavour Medical. Through scenario-based teaching, participants gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to approach medical situations in remote locations. The course goes beyond first aid training to provide comprehensive preparation for medical work in wilderness environments.
The programme is led by Endeavour's dedicated and highly experienced faculty who specialise in expedition medicine. Participants examine how medical care integrates with human factors when coordinating care in remote settings, including leadership skills, human factors considerations, and pre-departure planning. The course is designed for healthcare professionals and doctors seeking to develop expertise in expedition and wilderness medicine.
Endeavour Medical is passionate about social responsibility and directs a portion of all profits towards funding work globally to counter health and gender inequality. The organisation supports the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDGs three, four and five: Good Health and Wellbeing; Quality Education; and Gender Equality. Participants are encouraged to consider the importance of global health and One Health, and how their actions as healthcare professionals can have implications worldwide.
The expedition-based approach provides immersive, practical training in a real remote environment, allowing participants to apply medical knowledge and leadership skills in authentic wilderness contexts. This hands-on experience, combined with expert faculty mentoring, equips doctors and healthcare professionals with the competence and confidence to serve as medical support on future expeditions.
