About this course
ExR is a comprehensive platform offering immersive medical-education collections across a broad range of specialties and skills areas. The platform provides simulation-based and video-led learning experiences designed for UK healthcare professionals, from medical students through to consultants.
The collections cover diverse clinical domains including trauma life support (ATLS), anaesthetics and intensive care medicine, general medicine, obstetrics, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, emergency medicine, paediatric emergency skills, and renal medicine. Additional collections focus on foundational competencies and safety protocols, including core medical and nursing skills, communication skills, equipment training, life support training (basic, advanced, paediatric, and neonatal), and the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist.
Each collection is designed to provide hands-on, experiential learning through immersive video content and simulation scenarios. The platform emphasises real-world clinical situations, ranging from routine elective procedures to rare, life-threatening emergencies. Content is structured to support learners in understanding complex clinical skills, procedures, and emergency management protocols.
Learners can access the platform via free account registration using either standard email credentials or NHS Mail integration. The collections are suitable for allied health professionals, nursing staff, and doctors at all training grades seeking to develop or maintain clinical competency across their specialty.
