About this course
Mindful in Healthcare is a self-paced, evidence-based wellbeing and performance course designed specifically for healthcare professionals by Dr Reena Kotecha, a medical doctor and organisational consultant. The course addresses a critical gap in medical education: while doctors and nurses receive extensive training in clinical skills and patient care, they rarely receive formal training in managing their own stress, anxiety, burnout, and emotional wellbeing. Dr Kotecha draws on her own experience recovering from burnout to bring together tools from mindfulness, self-compassion, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, and lifestyle medicine.
The course is structured across 7 comprehensive modules delivered through an engaging mix of video lessons, guided meditations, reflective exercises, and downloadable handouts with infographics. Each module builds skills and practical strategies that healthcare professionals can apply immediately to their working and personal lives. The content is designed to help you optimize your wellbeing and mental health while supercharging your focus, concentration, and productivity. Beyond personal benefits, the course equips you with strategies to improve patient communication through active listening and empathy, enhance clinical decision-making by sharpening your focus, increase job satisfaction by finding meaning and purpose in your work, and strengthen team dynamics and relationships with colleagues.
Healthcare professionals who have engaged with the course report the following benefits:
- Significant stress reduction and improved ability to manage symptoms of stress
- Reduced anxiety and depression symptoms
- Improved focus, concentration, and mental clarity
- Enhanced resilience and emotional regulation when encountering challenges
- Greater self-compassion and kindness towards yourself
- Better sleep quality and increased energy levels
- Strengthened interpersonal relationships both at work and at home
- Increased job satisfaction and a renewed sense of purpose in healthcare work
This course is ideal for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and anyone in healthcare seeking practical, evidence-based strategies to thrive both professionally and personally. Created by a clinician for clinicians, it balances scientific rigour with accessible, practical tools you can implement immediately.
