About this course
This online musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound course teaches the fundamentals of MSK ultrasound imaging across all upper and lower extremity joints. Delivered through 290 short videos and micro-learning moments, the course spans 20 hours of content structured across seven comprehensive modules covering the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle, plus an introduction to ultrasound physics and clinical reasoning.
The course is designed to build a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical scanning skills. You'll learn standardized scanning techniques for all major joints, develop understanding of three-dimensional functional sonoanatomy, recognize common and advanced pathologies, and master the physics and artifacts of sonography. The teaching approach combines beautiful anatomical imagery, demonstration videos, and presentations from experienced trainers across radiology, musculoskeletal sonography, and general physician backgrounds.
Each module covers specific joint anatomy, scanning protocols, and pathology recognition in a systematic way. For example, the shoulder module addresses the biceps tendon, rotator cuff, AC joint, and common conditions like tendinopathy, tears, impingement, and calcification. The knee module covers menisci, ligaments, bursae, tendons, and conditions including osteoarthritis, baker cysts, and sports-related injuries like jumpers knee and runners knee. All modules follow this comprehensive anatomical and pathological structure.
Upon completion, you'll receive a digital SonoSkills Certificate of Attendance and proof of 20 CME points. This course is available on-demand, allowing you to study at your own pace, making it ideal for healthcare professionals seeking to develop diagnostic ultrasound skills for clinical practice. The course also serves as valuable preparation for formal certification. If you prefer hands-on training, SonoSkills also offers their Level 1 Bootcamp course.
