About this course
The MSA's Final FRCA Written Finisher Programme is an intensive 10-day exam-preparation course designed to help trainees tackle the challenging Final Written examination. The course consists of two components: a CRQ 'Booker' component (8th–12th February) and an SBA component (15th–20th February), delivered both online via Zoom and in-person at Village Hotel (L35). Trainees can attend both components or either one individually, depending on availability and deanery restrictions.
The programme addresses key challenges faced by candidates:
• The extensive volume of content required for the Final Written Exam
• Limited time to dedicate to exam preparation alongside clinical work
• Restrictions on leave allowances (some deaneries permit only one course per cycle)
• Limited opportunities to practise exam technique and timing under strict simulated conditions
The MSA's data shows that trainees attending both components have significantly higher pass rates than those attending only one part. The unified two-component format allows candidates to invest their full effort into a single exam sitting, avoiding the additional cost, time, and energy of multiple attempts. The programme has been redesigned based on feedback from previous candidates to maximise preparation efficiency.
Approximately 75 places are available per sitting. Applications opened on 3rd December, and applicants must be registered for the examination to apply. A detailed programme information document is available to review before applying.
