About this course
The MRCS Part A Exam Prep is an instant-access eLearning module designed to support junior doctors and surgeons preparing for the MRCS Part A examination. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, one of the four Surgical Royal Colleges in the UK and Ireland, has developed this comprehensive digital learning resource to help candidates develop the knowledge and clinical competence required for core surgical training progression.
This course consists of 13 topic-specialist video lectures providing almost 12 hours of content, alongside supporting materials and knowledge checks. The objectives are to provide guidance on the exam format, deliver a broad understanding of major syllabus topics through video and knowledge checks, and offer a platform for discussion and questions among learners.
The course covers the key areas assessed in MRCS Part A and is structured to build understanding progressively. Knowledge checks and activities are included as self-assessment tools (not graded) to help you verify your comprehension and identify areas for further study. Upon successful completion of MRCS Part A, you become eligible for election as a Member of the College and can progress to specialty training — the MRCS is an internationally recognised qualification demonstrating that you have the knowledge, understanding, experience and clinical competence required for core surgical training completion.
