About this course
This intensive 2-day FFICM exam preparation course replicates Final Examination conditions for intensive care specialists preparing for both the OSCE and SOE components. Delivered by current FFICM examiners from the Midlands, the course offers authentic practice scenarios, direct observation, and individualised feedback from expert faculty who understand the precise demands of the examination.
The course is structured as follows:
- Day One (Tuesday 9 September): 5 hours of intensive OSCE practice with observation and individualised feedback
- Day Two (Wednesday 10 September): 5 hours of intensive SOE practice with observation and individualised feedback
- Two insightful preparatory lectures: one from a successful candidate's perspective and one from an examiner's perspective
- Q&A session with the examiners
- Current FFICM examiners leading all teaching and assessment
This course is ideal for ST4+ intensive care trainees in their final preparations for the FFICM exam. The small-group format, focus on technique refinement, and direct access to examiners make this an excellent opportunity to identify gaps and build confidence before the real examination.
