The Radiology ST1 Interview Course is a comprehensive online preparation resource designed to help doctors secure their first-choice radiology training post. Created by Dr Alice Spencer, a top-ranking Clinical Radiology Registrar, this course delivers expert frameworks and structured practice for the competitive Radiology ST1 national selection interview.
Radiology ST1 recruitment is highly competitive: in 2024, there were 3,719 applications for 312 posts (11.92:1 ratio), and in 2025 this remained high at 4,011 applications for 356 posts (11.27:1). Success requires clarity, structure, and demonstrating genuine commitment to radiology. This course mirrors the real interview format—from clinical imaging scenarios and portfolio evidence to communication and specialty commitment—ensuring you approach every station with confidence and precision.
The course covers all key domains: interview format and scoring; commitment to speciality frameworks; radiology hot topics (AI, outsourcing, duty of candour, NHS targets); questions about your experience (taster weeks, leadership, teamworking); clinical prioritisation scenarios; portfolio structure and presentation; and clinical governance. You'll learn to tackle tasks like image prioritisation and team management under pressure, refine timing and delivery, and apply frameworks used by top-scoring candidates.
The platform includes a question bank with over 80 clinical questions, a discussion board for peer learning, and access to Medset's next-generation learning portal Examable®, which combines expert content with progress tracking, personalised stats, smart notes, podcasts, and discussion boards.
An optional live mock interview is available separately or as part of the Pro Bundle, led by top-scoring radiology trainees with personalised feedback on your performance. Mock interview dates run in February 2026; check availability for your preferred session.
