About this course
A comprehensive two-day program combining general and cardiac POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound) training to deliver complete bedside ultrasound capability. This course brings together multi-organ and advanced cardiac skills with extended hands-on scanning and integrated clinical scenarios, ideal for clinicians seeking a full, immersive POCUS skill set in one intensive program.
The course is designed for Acute and Emergency Physicians, Resident doctors, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Medical Associate Professionals, and Consultants working in acute medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, and anaesthetics. Ultrasound is now identified as an essential skill across all curriculum levels.
Day 1 covers vascular assessment (DVT), renal ultrasound, ocular ultrasound, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and regional anaesthesia block planes. Day 2 focuses on advanced cardiac modules including core echo views, left and right ventricular assessment, valve assessment, ultrasound in the crashing patient, and echo in life support, plus thoracic ultrasound.
Teaching combines hands-on scanning with live models and state-of-the-art ultrasound simulators, image interpretation, case discussions, and evidence review. The course features more comprehensive training and more hours of hands-on scanning than standard Level II courses, with advanced modules not typically included in conventional Level 2 training.
