About this course
King's CT Polytrauma for the Emergency Physician is a redesigned and updated two-day interactive online course providing a focused update on CT imaging interpretation in trauma. Delivered live by Infomed Ltd in February 2027, it is suitable for Emergency Medicine Consultants and Senior Trainees seeking to improve their confidence in advanced trauma imaging interpretation and reporting.
The course combines short theory lectures with extensive interactive case interpretation and reporting sessions. Attendees work with their own PACS access to a fully featured cloud-based DICOM viewer, examining dozens of cases over the two days. The format emphasizes practical, case-based learning with immediate feedback from expert faculty members. Topics covered include Head, Cervical Spine, Chest, Abdomen, Thoracolumbar Spine, Pelvis, and Vascular injuries.
The course is led by Dr Lisa Meacock, Consultant Radiologist at King's College Hospital, and taught by a faculty of consultant radiologists and specialists from leading UK and international hospitals. The pre-course viewing includes a 60-minute introductory session on physics, radiation dose, CT protocols, anatomy, contrast uses, and reporting templates.
By the end of the course, delegates will have a comprehensive understanding of best trauma imaging interpretation practice, improved trauma imaging interpretation skills, and greater confidence in advanced practice with the ability to know when to refer further. The course features interactive discussions using Slido and chat functions, allowing real-time engagement with faculty and peers.
What's included: Live online access for both days via Webex or Teams; 90 days of on-demand access with unlimited playback; full access and control to DICOM cases via PostDICOM; CPD Certificate of attendance with 12 CPD points (RCR-approved); opportunity to interact and ask questions directly to faculty; access to a database of practice cases for review after the course ends.
