About this course
This intensive 1-day course is designed for healthcare professionals who have already achieved FUSIC Heart or BSE Level 1 and FUSIC or FAMUS Lung accreditation and want to develop their knowledge and skills in Advanced Critical Care Ultrasound.
The course covers the FUSIC HD dataset, advanced haemodynamic assessment, valvular assessment, key critical care pathologies, and venous congestion (VEXUS). A significant component of the day includes hands-on scan workshops featuring both simulators and human models with GE Venue PoCUS machines, allowing delegates to gain practical experience in real-world ultrasound techniques.
The course is taught by expert faculty including Dr Gary Lau (Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Intensive Care), Hannah Conway (National FUSIC® Heart Lead and Cardiothoracic ACCP), Dr Rachel Wong (Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and ECMO), and Alan Clethro (Cardiothoracic ACCP). All faculty are BSE or EACVI accredited FUSIC and FAMUS supervisors with extensive examination and teaching experience.
