About this course
This two-day online course provides a comprehensive review of radiological assessment and management of minor injuries in Emergency Departments, Minor Injury Units (MIU), and Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC). Delivered by experts from Radiology, Orthopaedics, and Emergency Medicine, the course covers x-ray interpretation for each body area to identify bony and soft tissue pathology, followed by urgent and emergency management guidance: what to refer urgently, what to refer to clinic, and what to discharge with advice.
Early-bird price £220 until 31 September 2025 (standard £240).
The course is aimed at Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Allied Healthcare Practitioners, Emergency Physicians, Acute Paediatricians, and GPs treating adult and paediatric patients in Emergency Departments, Minor Injuries Units, and Urgent Treatment Centres.
Content covers all common paediatric and adult injuries in an interactive lecture format with polls and Q&A. Day 1 focuses on upper limb injuries (shoulder, humerus, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand, and facial injuries). Day 2 covers lower limb injuries (pelvis, hip, knee, ankle, and foot), concluding with an x-ray quiz.
The course aims to improve clinicians' confidence in dealing with common presentations and provide an update on recent advances in management of minor injuries and fractures.
Faculty includes specialist consultants and trainers from Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with expertise in musculoskeletal radiology, emergency medicine, and orthopaedic surgery.
