About this course
Paediatric Plain Films 2027 is a case-based live online course delivered by Infomed Ltd for doctors working in emergency, acute, radiology, radiography, anaesthesia/ITU, and orthopaedics seeking further training and understanding of paediatric plain x-rays. The course takes place on Wednesday 13 January 2027 and runs from 09:10 to 17:00, with breaks for lunch and refreshments.
The course format features very short interactive presentations followed by cases reviewed on PACS with live discussion and Q&A. Faculty members are established consultant paediatric radiologists from leading UK institutions including Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, King's College Hospital, and Sheffield Children's Hospital. Topics covered include normal paediatric anatomy and variants, trauma (accidental and inflicted), chest x-rays, non-traumatic bone pathology, and the role of AI in paediatric MSK plain film reporting. The course concludes with an interactive quiz and mixed case review session.
By the end of the course, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of normal paediatric plain film anatomy, greater confidence in identifying pathology, and clear guidance on what not to miss and when to seek specialist advice. The course is particularly valuable for radiology trainees preparing for the FRCR 2B exam, reporting radiographers, emergency physicians, and paediatricians.
Early-bird pricing applies until Friday 2 October 2026: Radiographers/ACP/ENP £95, Trainees £115, Consultants £155. Standard rates thereafter: Radiographers/ACP/ENP £115, Trainees £135, Consultants £175. All fees include VAT. A 20% discount is available when booking multiple plain film courses together.
Attendance includes live access to the online broadcast, 90 days of on-demand access to the recorded course with unlimited playback, full access to DICOM cases on PostDICOM, a CPD certificate with 6 CPD points, and the opportunity to interact directly with faculty via Q&A. The course is delivered online via Teams or Webex, and participants will receive joining links and instructions one week before the event.
