About this course
This is a two-day, case-based course designed for doctors seeking further training and understanding of plain X-ray interpretation. The course is delivered live and online, with comprehensive coverage of musculoskeletal, chest, abdominal, paediatric, facial bone, spine, and pelvis imaging. It is particularly relevant for doctors working in emergency medicine, acute care, radiology, radiography, anaesthesia/ITU, and orthopaedics.
The course format combines very short interactive presentations followed by case reviews using a fully featured cloud-based DICOM viewer (PostDICOM). Delegates work through real-world cases alongside expert faculty members, receiving immediate feedback, learning points, top tips, pitfalls, and guidance on what not to miss. The course emphasises practical interpretation and reporting skills with a focus on interactive discussion, trauma and non-trauma scenarios, and common diagnostic errors to avoid.
By the end of the course, delegates will have gained a comprehensive understanding of X-ray interpretation, improved practical reporting skills, greater confidence in patient management decisions, clarity on when to refer for further imaging, and identification of any skills and knowledge gaps relevant to their practice.
Course highlights include intensive interpretation and reporting practice, systematic approaches to X-ray reading, revision of core anatomy, discussion of common diagnostic misses, ability to manipulate and zoom images in real-time on PACS, and access to an expert faculty of consultant radiologists and emergency medicine consultants. Delegates benefit from a highly interactive experience with live Q&A sessions, expert discussion panels, and the opportunity to ask questions directly to faculty members via chat.
After the live event, delegates retain 90 days of on-demand access to the recorded sessions with unlimited playback. Full CPD certification with 12 CPD points is awarded upon completion of feedback.
