About this course
This is a Cardiac Surgery Advanced Life Support (CALS) course delivered by g&h CritCareEcho, a specialist provider in critical care education. The course runs on 7 June 2025 from 08:15 to 14:30 at Spire Nottingham Hospital.
The course is aimed at nurses, trainees, consultants, advanced practitioners and surgical practitioners working in intensive care and theatres. It is designed to empower all practitioners to act with confidence as a team while caring for the post-operative cardiac surgical patient.
The course covers:
• EACTS cardiac arrest protocols and applying them to your clinical areas
• Practical sessions using the CALS protocol
• Management of cardiothoracic emergencies
• Workshops and scenarios
• Human factors in cardiac surgery
The programme combines didactic teaching with practical, scenario-based learning to develop both clinical knowledge and team-working skills in the high-stakes environment of cardiac surgery and critical care.
