About this course
Erudical's Teach The Teacher course is a comprehensive training programme designed to help UK doctors and healthcare professionals develop essential teaching skills for clinical settings. The course is delivered through two complementary methods: a self-paced online component covering over 12 hours of content, and an optional full-day live online course (9:00–17:00).
The self-paced course features 20 digestible modules covering a wide range of teaching topics: bedside teaching, small group facilitation, mentoring, feedback techniques, presentation skills, and learning theories (including Kolb, Bloom's, Knowles, Brookfield, VAK, Honey & Mumford, and others). Modules are presented in engaging scenario-based formats, with three practical assignments requiring learners to apply new skills in their workplace and receive tailored feedback. Each sub-topic completed earns a certificate (e.g. small group teaching, adult learning theory, setting aims and objectives, feedback).
For those preferring interaction, the optional live course delivers expert-led instruction on adult learning theories, lesson planning, giving feedback, large group teaching, and mentoring, with interactive group tasks and in-class feedback. The live course is delivered in a virtual classroom via Gathertown, allowing participation from home.
Access to both the self-paced and live courses is included in a single enrolment. The self-paced materials remain available for 6 weeks from purchase, with course extensions purchasable if needed. Completion requires passing in-module and end-of-module quizzes, a final test, and up to two assignments evidenced with workplace feedback or reports. Upon completion, you receive a formal certificate of completion.
The course is CPD-certified, allowing professionals to claim CPD points based on their professional body's criteria (e.g. up to 12 points for RCP members, calculated at 1 point per hour). Most learners cite the course as valuable for IMT and Higher Specialty Training applications, where teaching evidence is increasingly competitive. Testimonials highlight the accessible pricing, expert delivery, practical relevance, and supportive team.
